Fin

The last day of school has come and gone. I don't think the fact that I'm never going back to those classrooms again has quite hit me yet. I'm sure it will on graduation night though. The picnic was mostly uneventful. Although the squirt gun thing was good clean fun.

The array of graduation parties proved to be more of formality than anything fun. Olivia's was good though. We finally got revenge on Stephanie for her revenge on us. We peanuted her car, so that was good. We also ran around downtown, that was probably the most fun I had in a while. I paid for it later though. My allergies kicked my ass that night and into Saturday. I think I have them under control now though. On a related note, I'm surprised I didn't pass out yesterday. I took a Claritin-D and four Sudafeds within four hours. What I didn't realize is that one Claritin-D is equivalent to taking four Sudafed. So that's eight plus some antihystomine what-not. I should have fallen over. Well, one more party to go to - Matt's, that one should be fun, it's in my natural environment. Cicadas are ugly. zeus.

My Baby

Well, my laptop arrived today - a day early. I'm not complaining. WOW! This is the most beautiful computer I have ever seen. It's just breath taking, really. If anyone is researching a laptop for college, consider a Powerbook. Time to play. zeus.

define: irony

Car is fixed! Yay!

I, basically, have one day of school left. Here's my rationale: Tomorrow I have a jazz band gig in the morning, so I'll miss some of, if not most of, the day, and Friday is the senior picnic half-day what-not. That's crazy. CRAZY! I still have no idea what I'm going to do all summer. I think I want to learn how to play piano. Jacob said he would give me an old keyboard that he doesn't need. Sounds like an adventure.

Last night was the Band Banquet. I won some stuff. I got the nicest looking plaque I have ever seen from Blair (percussion instructor). It seems like something you would get from the White House, seriously. Hilarity: They were giving out the senior awards and Jackson said the description of one as "This person exemplifies compassion, loyalty, love...," I leaned over and whispered to Stephanie, "None of my friends could ever get that award." Jackson: "The Frank Laparle Humanitarian Fine Arts Award goes to Mike Lewis." That, I believe, is the definition of irony.

My laptop comes Friday at 10:20. Rock. zeus.

Jardinains!

I found this awesome game which for many years has eluded me - Jardinains! It's just like breakout but with gnomes throwing plants at you. For those of you sad people who don't know what breakout is: it is a game, kind of like pong, where you have a paddle and a ball and you hit the blocks to make them dissappear and thus, win the game. Jardinains kicks ass.

I want Gmail (google mail). If anyone has an account or knows someone that does, I would love an invitation. Will sell soul. zeus.

My Poor Car

Just finished my 100 voacab words. Mostly BSed it, mixing in words from previous versions. That means that I officially have nothing left to do. I have 5 days left, but really I have 3. The last day is the picnic and thursday I have a jazz thing. Hooray.

On a more somber note, my car broke. It just won't start. Poor thing. So I'm carless for the weekend because auto repair places aren't open. Bastards. zeus.

I just saw Troy and it was great. Everyone should see it, regardless of your views of Greek mythology. Awesome movie. Brad Pitt was very good, and I mean that in a purely heterosexual acting critique sort of way. I didn't think Orlando Bloom was so good in it, but maybe Pitt just makes him look bad.

Got yearbooks today. They're pretty cool. Heat sensitive and what not. So, we did the yearbook signing thing too and I discovered quite a bit about people. You actually can tell a lot about a person and how that person views you by what they write. Kind of like old fashioned letters (the things that e-mail replaced). Although sometimes that isn't the case at all. For instance, a lot of "phonies" (Holden Caulfield) wrote some crap about it being a great 4 years and me providing them entertainment and some remark about corn. Now, I'm not saying it hasn't been a great 4 years and I'm not bitter about corn remarks, I make quite a few myself. It just all sounds so fake. Give me a nice "my tuba is bigger than yours" (George Geatz) any day. zeus.

Matt put me on to this new band, well new to me - The Postal Service. It's the singer from Death Cab for Cutie (another great band) with Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel). Basically, it's the techno version of Death Cab for Cutie. Download The District Sleeps Alone Tonight and Clark Gable, both great songs.

Anyway, I think we have like 6 days of school left. Really it's less for me because Thursday I have this jazz thing downtown that I'm getting out of school for and Friday is the picnic. Apparently we're poor and the picnic will suck. Oh well. It really is unbelievable that I can probably count the number hours left of high school on my fingers and toes, well probably not, but it's very few. Today I ordered my laptop. I'm very excited. zeus.

Play Gone

Well, The Music Man = Fin. The last night went fairly well. Much better than friday's show. The cast parties have been strange, yet eventful. Friday I ended up in the parking lot of Denny's playing a Djembe with some guitars. That was cool. Speaking of Djembes, I went to a Afro-Cuban percussion clinic held by two members of the Rumba Club. That was pretty cool. Very informative, those guys know their stuff. Saturday I almost died going up a crazy winding road to get to that cast party. Crazy! Two weeks of school left: awesome. zeus.

In the Clear

Well, the opening of the play went great last night. Much better than I expected it to be. That's a relief. Research paper is finished and out of my hands. The first part of my physics exam is over. It was cake. So, it looks like I can coast through the remaining two weeks of school. Wow, two weeks is not long at all. That's good. zeus.

Art - The Thinking Man's Wrestling

Per my title up there ^, I was typing my research paper while slightly listening to the Daily Show. Anyway, I look up from my slave-labor to take a drink and I hear the most hilarious line of the day (my title). John Stewart was talking about the man who paid $104 million for a Picasso painting, which is the most amount of money ever paid for a painting. Cool.

Last practice for the play is now behind me, thank jebus. Opening night is tomorrow and I'm not feeling optimistic. It just isn't going so well. Maybe it will all come together, probably not. Damn bassoon ho skankin' up the music. I want a monocle and a top-hat. zeus.

Irony?

Well, just finished the AP Psychology test. I will tell you that it was easier than I thought it would be, which is pretty damn easy. I would be surprised if I didn't get a 4 or a 5.

Anyway, on the way back, I was near the middle school (the Braddock type) when I saw a group of spikey-headed kids. You know the type. Pre-Punks. As I got closer, I saw that they were all wearing the same shirt. It was grey and in red writing it said, "F Conformity." No, I'm not just being polite, that's what it literally said. So there are like five kids wearing a shirt that says F Conformity. That made my day. Although, maybe I got it wrong. Maybe they were being ironic. At that age, I doubt they even know what that word means. Oh well. zeus.

Red Vs Blue to the Rescue

Last night was rough. Didn't get home until after 11. Blasted play. It's a damn good thing I didn't go to school this morning. I'm actually glad that I have an AP exam this afternoon.

Red Vs Blue came out with another new episode. Big cliffhanger at the end... wow. Also, I just found out that if you have winamp you can watch the first season of Red Vs Blue in streaming form. There are Radiohead videos and some other things on there too. You just go to Media Library in Winamp and go to Internet TV. And that's your Winamp tip of the day. zeus.

Glippity-Glob

Now starts what Matt so eloquently stated as "Hell Week." I wouldn't go that far, but it will definetly suck. I've got an AP test, final exam beginage, that crazy play every night, and a research paper due. Damn. Jazz band too, but that's no big deal. I think I have an AFS meeting one of those days after school, not sure. AFS is dumb. On a brighter note, there's a new episode of Red Vs Blue out. Yay! zeus.

Prom

Here's where I get to reflect on prom.

< rant >

All and all, I will say it was not bad. The venue was not good at all. Too cramped, too indoors. Shrine Club: Bah! I like to think that we have pretty good class officers, they're nice people, but I think they may have dropped it on this one. Or maybe it wasn't even in their control, I have no idea. Apparently there was a buffet that no one knew about. I wonder how much that miscommunication cost. Also, I remember last minute painting of last year's prom favors to make them our own. Not good. Dinner was nice though. Au petit what-cha-not. Duck = tasty. Also, my date and I, I'll confess, looked excellent. zeus.

This is my first real attempt at blogging. I know, I know... what took so long? In short, I'm lazy.

I'm trying to streamline my site, gotzeus.com, because I happen to be so lazy. I want to make it as easy as possible for me to update. You should notice that I don't code my own photo gallery anymore either. I just put the photos in a folder, fire up a program, and out pops a gallery. Good Stuff. Zeus.
